Wieder im Deutschland

The last couple of weeks have been, as usual, packed with work. But, I have spent some very enjoyable hours with friends in Karlsruhe, Rheinstetten, Pforzheim and Remchingen, Germany.

Last weekend was spent touring Irish pubs in Germany (unexpected, I know), candle-lit gardens at night and swimming, walking along the Rhein and eating BBQ. I have to say, this visit was a real pleasure, even with the extreme workload.

Tomorrow morning I'm driving down to Switzerland to visit a facility in Regensdorf. I hope this will be a productive endeavor, yet while I've planned my strategy in detail, I can think only of returning home. This weekend is Independence Day in the US and I really look forward to our annual boat parade and celebrations. I've already made a CD for the event, in which my JBL marine system proudly provides the audio backdrop to a group of boats slowly cruising the shoreline.

Missed posts

I guess I got so caught up in having fun with my family and friends, and watching colorful storms that I just forgot to put some words here, oh well. Life has been very good, challenging but fun. We've planted a garden, gone into summer vacation from school and we're approaching the start of bass season. But, for a brief 2 week period, I need to return to Germany.

Still, I'll be back in time for the Independence Day celebration. Hopefully, my garden will still be growing, considering the kids' attempt to water everything briskly!

And, by the time I return some of my quad parts will arrive, to put a few extra horsepower on the 400ex!

Until then, I'm going to use my new favorite mobile app, Slacker Radio...

Time flies

It's been a while since I posted to my little blog...time just seems to fly when you're having fun (or working your ass off). Times are tough, the economy is in the toilet and the cost of living has risen dramatically. But, being employed in Southeast Michigan is really a blessing considering that this area has the highest unemployment of the entire United States.

I've managed to go fishing for Steelhead, Perch and Walleye in the last few weeks, which was great. It's amazing how spending some time on the water can erase, albeit temporarily, stress and anxiety. It was also great watching my daughter catch her first two perch, at once! She got a double-header on her first try. I guess it's in my family's blood! :) The 2 kids in the photo are mine, and I spent countless hours on the very same pier fishing when I was a kid.

Last weekend I roto-tilled the garden and my kids and I put a bunch of fruit and vegetable seeds into trays to germinate. I look forward to tending my garden again this summer, its a lot like fishing for me in a theraputic way.

Well, that's all I have to say for now...
